Drake Just Sealed A Brand New Deal With Warner Brother Records For His Own Music Label

| December 5, 2012 | 0 Comments

Drake just made one hell of a power move, by inking a major record deal for his October’s Very Own company, with Warner Bros. Records. Sweet! The constant singing-rapping hit-maker skipped past his home team, Cash Money/Young Money, and took business into his own hands, forming a bond with one of the world’s largest and credible label.

The announcement was released by Billboard, who stated this:

October’s Very Own, the label spearheaded by Drake, has inked a deal with Warner Bros. Records. A rumored deal was first floated by Hits Daily Double on Tuesday (Dec. 4), and a source has confirmed the impending partnership to Billboard. More details are expected to be released on Wednesday. For some, Drake appeared to be leaving Lil Wayne and his Young Money Family hanging right? (perhaps not after all) The Canadian rapper had a plan from the jump, according to what he told Rolling Stone a during an interview:

“I reached a point in my life where I realized there aren’t material things that can give me the excitement that I’m looking for,” he told his cheering peers. “There’s a void in my life that I need to fill and I need to sit and think long and hard what that was. It was the fact that I had left a gaping hole in my story of following through.” He concluded the speech by dedicating his new diploma to his mother, “because she’s a retired teacher and always wanted me to graduate,” he said. “I think I’ll sleep a little better tonight knowing that I found a way to follow through.”
