Aaliyah’s Family Releases An Unisex Tribute Perfume

| September 18, 2015 | 0 Comments

Fourteen years after singer Aaliyah’s death, she is finally getting her own fragrance. Perfume company Xyrena collaborated with Aaliyah’s brother Rashad and mother Diane to create a unique fragrance.

“I grew up with Aaliyah’s music,” said Xyrena CEO Killian Wells. “As a huge fan, this is a very personal release for me and my company. We set out to create a fragrance to be cherished by Aaliyah’s fans and introduce her to a new generation.”

The unisex fragrance leans toward the more masculine side, a nod to Aaliyah’s favorite men’s scent and to help celebrate her tomboy image. The perfume is called Aaliyah by Xyrena and it contains base notes of vanilla, sandalwood, amber, and jasmine: middle notes of black pepper, violet, and leather: with top notes of mint, lavender, and mandarin.

“It has been wonderful working with Xyrena to create an incredible fragrance that embodies the beauty, mystery, and creativity that my sister infused into every aspect of her life.” stated her brother Rashad in a press release.

Aaliyah by Xyrena will cost $64 and 5% of the sales will go to the Aaliyah Memorial Fund. You can pre-order the perfume on Xyrena’s website. Look out for the official release in October.
