Earlier in the week, Twitter account @Amil_Doe surfaced on the web and gained notice after a few insults were fired at rappers Foxy Brown and Rick Ross. However, the real Amil, former leading lady of the old Roc-A-Fella records denies all associations with the account, claiming that social networking is just not for her.

“I’ve never had a Twitter or Facebook account. They’re just not for me,” she explains. “Sometimes things like this surprise me because I haven’t been in the spotlight in awhile, but when I come up it always seems to be something negative. That’s something I try my hardest to stay away from. It does bother me a little bit but I let it go after while,” says Amil. The former rapper has avoided the spotlight for approximately 11 years and is currently the mother of three children.

After Amil’s first and last album A.M.I.L. (All Money Is Legal), the rapper was dropped by Roc- A-Fella label due to internal issues amongst the clan and weight gain.  However, Amil claims that there is absolutely no bad blood between her and Jay-Z.  “Things happen and I wasn’t ready for where my career was going at that time. It was really overwhelming,” she says. As for the current leading lady in the game Nicki Minaj, Amil is absolutely supportive of her career. “I got mad respect and love for Nicki. She’s doing it really big and that’s odd for a female. It’s really hard for a female rapper… out of every female entertainer, they got it the worst. I support her because behind-the-scenes she’s going through a lot. And to be able to handle that— that’s big,” she states. Amil is currently working on an urban fiction novel and maintaining her life as it is.
