Rapper DaBaby went from performing at the BET Awards to being booted from one of the biggest festivals in the world all because of his ridiculous homophobic remarks during a recent concert.

The organizers announced within the past few hours that his services will no longer be needed because they have decided to replace his spot with rapper Young Thug.

According to TMZ, the following statement was released by the concert producers:

DaBaby was supposed to perform at 9 PM Sunday for more than 150,000 fans, as the final act of the 4-day festival — instead, he’ll be sidelined, and Young Thug has been moved up into that slot.

The 11th-hour change is in response to the rapper’s onstage rant last weekend at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami. ICYMI … DaBaby told the audience to put their phones up, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS or other STDs that’ll make you die in 2-3 weeks” and “Fellas, if you didn’t suck a n***a d**k in the parking lot.”

There is apparently a campaign making its rounds on social media to #CancelDaBaby and seeing that he was just dropped as a pitchman for Boohoo clothing and removed as a featured artist on the song “Levitating” after artist Due Lipa denounced his comments.

Singer Chris Brown even chimed in via his instagram stories with the following message:

Brown was one of many who have called out the rapper and while a few have defended DaBaby, the consensus at this point is that he has been canceled by many.

We have seen countless videos of Caucasian women making false claims about assaults towards people of color so its no surprise that another incident of white privilege and discrimination against a black person has reached the doorsteps of one of the most recognized brands in ladies fashion.

The “karen” in question has been identified as Abigail Elphick who is white, launched an attack on a Muslim woman of color identified via a police report as Ijeoma Ukenta, because of a dispute that we are still trying to determine how it began.

This newest “karen” incident is being coined “Get Her Away From Me” because those were the words used by this disturbed woman as she was being recorded making these false claims. It all went down in South Jersey’s Short Hills Mall when the woman of color was simply trying to acquire a pair of “free panties” she was using a coupon she received in the mail.

The victim kept requesting from store employees to call mall security while “karen” was having a tantrum but it was only when her attacker called the police they arrived. The victim released the following statement after the incident:

So, I see everyone asking me for an update. I am at the police station. I have the police report, which is somewhat true, but really, really long. I’m happy I did record because even the officers stated that I only showed him the video of her laying on the floor when I showed him“

“Mind you, they took her statement first because, of course, she called the police. And she completely lied. She’s trying to say I started videotaping her causing her to have a panic attack, at which time she followed me to try to get me to stop recording.”

“So, I’m filing the complaint against the two officers that responded. I didn’t feel protected. I’m also filing a complaint against the mall security. Victoria’s Secret, in my opinion …  like what do we expect them?  Grab this woman? The manager even sent somebody to walk down to get security because they were taking too long. So , I don’t really have any issues with them … not as of yet. Now if they give us problems getting the video, then we’ll talk about that. That’ll be another story.”

Ukenta also read directly from one of the officers report. It read:

I spoke with ‘miss crazy lady’ and advised her that I spoke to the store employee and that they corresponded that what Miss Ukenta had said happened.”

“Miss Elphick seemed to acknowledge that she was wrong, saying she was concerned about losing her job and apartment if the video posted online. She was having a panic attack about the videotaping. I advised her that Miss Ukenta has a right to videotape. I asked her several times if she was alright and if she needed an ambulance. And she declined repeatedly. She kept expressing her concern about her job and apartment. She finally stated that she was going home, and I asked if she would be OK to drive and she says she was. At this time,  Ms. Elphick left the mall voluntarily with mall security.”

To say this video is troubling is an understatement because this type of behavior has resulted in people of color being falsely accused of crimes they did not commit. One case that comes to mind is the case of the Central Park Five who were falsely accused of raping a white woman in the park in the 90’s only to have been proven innocent of the crime after serving substantial prison sentences.

The victim is now seeking legal representation because she believes the police nor did the store employees handle the situation properly and she has set up a Gofundme account so she can hire qualified counsel to represent her in her quest for justice.

This is a developing story.

Bill Cosby spokesperson calls foul play, evidence was manipulated

After being found guilty of sexual assault months ago, actor and civil rights leader Bill Cosby was sentenced today in a Pennsylvania courtroom to 3-10 years in prison but he will likely be eligible for parole after serving 36 months.

There are many people already calling Mr. Cosby’s conviction and sentence a modern day “lynching” as many point out that the President of the United States has been accused by 19 different woman of sexual assault as well as film producer Harvey Weinstein has yet to be convicted of any crimes.

Montgomery County Judge Steven O’Neill said he refuses to sentence the 81-year-old to probation or “partial confinement,” like house arrest. He also announced earlier today that he would be classifying Mr. Cosby as a “Sexually Violent Predator” which means he has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.  The ailing star was seen leaving the courtroom in handcuffs.

Mr. Cosby’s attorney asked for probation while prosecutors wanted a 5-10 year sentence. “What does an 81-year-old man do in prison?” attorney Joseph Green asked the court. “How does he fight off the people who are trying to extort him, or walk to the mess hall?”

Cosby’s accuser gave an impact statement before sentencing as well as other past accusers showed up for his sentencing. Cosby has a very strong chance for appeal as the judge in the case allowed his past accusers to testify at his trial even though the statue of limitation had already expired for criminal charges to be brought against the comedian.

Nicolle Rochelle, the former Cosby Show actress arrested after protesting topless at the actor’s retrial

However, Cosby’s accuser, Andrea Constand, as well as 60 women who have come forward with allegations against him in recent years, argued that the man once heralded as “America’s Dad” should not get a pass for his crimes just because of his age and status. It also should be noted that Constand entered into a civil agreement in 2006 for $3.3 million dollars for the alleged incident. When she was questioned by prosecutors as to why she didn’t go to the police then and opted for the cash payout, she claimed that she “just wanted it to be over with for her and her family” What changed from then and now?

Can she still sue Bill Cosby after previously accepting a settlement? The short answer is yes unless there was a clause in her settlement agreement that precludes her from trying to sue Cosby in court. Constand other financial opportunities would be to write books or do public speakings which she could easily make millions of dollars.

headshot 6HipHopEnquirer.com had an exclusive sit down with the entertainment industry executive, Jacob York. For over two decades, York has devoted his time and effort to investing, promoting and having the true essence of a NewYork grinder. His early days consisted of event promoting and managing top artists such as Lil Kim and Gucci Mane.  Currently, York latest venture is Electric Republic, a vision that came to York at the tender age of 15. Electric Republic currently assists in the production of film/tv, apps, music and multimedia projects while managing industry talents and athletes.  ER currently manages Karrachue Tran, Lalanya Masters, and Chantel Jeffries, Ezekiel Elliott and many more. Find out more about York and his success in the industry on Five Question with JACOB YORK.

Tell us about Jacob York and your role in moving our creative culture forward with Electric Republic.

I think with ER, we are a lot more socially conscious. I want to be able to stand behind what I’ve done. I can say that a lot of the music that I was involved in early on, I may not be able to stand behind. Originally, My concern was with what would sell. Now, with ER…I stand behind it. So, I think that’s what has been helping me move and be socially conscious. We are making the movies, creating the content and representing talent that will push us into the next generation.

You have been in the industry for years and have had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest names in the entertainment. How have your past experiences shaped your vision for tomorrow?

Again, I am more socially conscious in the content I produce now, as opposed to when I was younger. When I was younger, I didn’t care what the content said, what the theme or language was, you know? Now, I am looking at the impact content has on today’s society and what the kids are following. These children are living through what they see on TV or hear on the radio and take it as real life.  Today, I am much more conscious of the content that I chose to put out there .

Can you offer advice on sustaining in an industry that can be fickle at times?

Yeah. I view business from a perspective point of view rather than emotional. I avoid the emotional point of views at all cost. You have to practice smart business, that’s first. Secondly, I look to the youth… the next generation. A loft of people in the [entertainment] industry just stick to what they know. I try to surround myself with young, fresh energy that can give me that perspective. Uniquely enough the older you get, the more in the past you are. The young lives in the future.

What is next on the radar for Jacob York and Electric Republic?

Jacob and Ezekial Elliot
Jacob York with Ezekiel Elliott

More films and we have a few television projects coming in 2017… scripted and unscripted. We have expanded with a sports division and Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys  is our first talent. We are looking at 4 or 5 basketball and football talents to take on next season.

Gen X’ers vs. Millennials… your thoughts?

Millennials seem more driven to me but I think that there is a fine line between the two because some people overlap. Millennials… I think the revolution will start with them. Gen X’ers… there was a time where they just kind of existed. That’s in my opinion.

Each year, the live music series continues to grow with bigger partnerships and performances and continually attract hundreds of influencers, live performances by emerging and established R&B artists and more. It’s July 1, so that means “Mr. Steal Your Girl” is poised to do just that as he drops his new album Trigga, which he calls his “best album yet.”

The deluxe edition has 17 tracks, but if you purchase your copy at Target, expect to get three more bonus tracks; “Serial,” “Hard To Walk Away,” and this one here called “Sneaky.” It’s classic, explicit Trey as he sings about sneaking some nookie in the freakiest of fashions.

Trey Songz iHeartRadio Album Release Party

“I want you now, don’t be care to get down / You want me don’t you, girl let’s do some freaky sh*t, girl let’s do some sneaky sh*t,” he sings on the chorus.

In addition to the bonus cut, check out photos from Trey’s album release party from last night at iHeartRadio Theater Los Angeles. Trey performed five songs off his newly released album including: “Foreign,” “Na Na,” “Smart Phones,” “What’s Best for You,” and “Change Your Mind.”

Is there really a recipe for a successful marriage? Well if you asked actress and sex symbol Meagan Good and her preacher husband DeVon Franklin, the answer is yes. The two recently sat down with several reporters and bloggers during a press junket in Los Angeles where they shared some of their secrets for a successful marriage.

2013 BET Awards - Arrivals

The Q & A session started out with the both of them speaking about their respective careers until a reporter asked probing question about how Devon Franklin felt about what his wife wears out in public. The reporter was referring to the time Meagan wore a low cleavage cut dress to the Bet Award in Los Angeles back in the summer of 2013.  During that time, the actress received a lot of criticism from social media.

ATLANTA, GA —The Show me the Way foundation and African Pride Dream Kids are excited to welcome music royalty to the 2012 Runway Red: Safari Wonderland charity kids fashion show. The event is set to take over ZOO Atlanta located at 800 Cherokee Avenue SE, Atlanta, GA 30315 at 7pm on Saturday, August 11, 2012. International superstar Akon’s sons will walk the runway along with the children of hip hop’s king of the south TI.  Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield’s little one’s will participate and Chilli from TLC’s son will return for a repeat performance.

“I am always moved by the support from the celebrity community,” says Show Me the Way foundation executive director Tashawnya Menefee. “We have worked with new celebrities every year and we also have some that have supported us again and again. I’m just thankful that they have a heart for our foundation and the children affected by HIV/AIDS that the foundation was created to assist.”

News of the upcoming celebrity kids fashion show has Atlanta buzzing after supermodel Cynthia Bailey (RHOA) hosted a model call on July 1st for additional talent to accompany the celebrity children in the show. Over three hundred children ages 5-18 came out to audition for the chance to strut alongside the offspring of some of their favorite celebrities.  Menefee says she loves that the children participating are privy to an authentic production, and it has helped many of them find an inspiration to pursue modeling. “We have Runway Red alumni doing major productions and getting booked for commercials and productions in NY, etc.,” she states proudly.

Celebrity confirmations continue rolling in as the Runway Red staff prepares for a major production in less than thirty days. Title sponsor Dream Kids is excited at the momentum building in the city and looking forward to being a major part of the program this year. “We are very excited to be a part of this year’s production,” says Charlene Bastien, Strength of Nature National Marketing Director/African Pride Dream Kids Hair Care.  “The show is going to be one to remember.”

The 2012 Runway Red: Safari Wonderland celebrity kids fashion show will take place at ZOO Atlanta, located at 800 Cherokee Avenue SE, Atlanta, GA 30315 on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 7pm.  For show inquiries, please contact: Angela Watts, AW Media Group, 678-637-0982 or via email: angela@awmediagroup.com …Twitter handle: @awmediagroup.
