At about 12:15am on October 20th, a woman returning home from work was surprised by 5 men wearing hoodies waiting inside of a black sedan. As the woman was retrieving her belongings from her trunk, one of the men jumped out brandishing what appeared to be a semi-automatic weapon and demanded that she give him her belongings and the keys to her car.

The crime occurred at 2171 Peachtree Road, directly across the street from Diddy’s former Justin’s Restaurant. The rap mogul closed the restaurant several years ago however it still bears the “Justin’s” name in front of the building.

The Mezzo is a prominent high-rise in the heart of Buckhead which was also the former residence of rap superstar Nicki Minaj. Atlanta police recovered the vehicle within hours but are still looking for the suspects.

Ciara and Future in happier time

In a lawsuit obtained by Hip Hop Enquirer, recording artist Ciara has finally had enough of her ex-boyfriend rapper Future trashing her in the media because now she wants a Fulton County Superior court judge to severely hurt his pockets. In her suit she wants a judge to award her 15 million dollars because she feels Future has slandered and defamed her good name. It’s no mystery the two haven’t had the best relationship after their breakup last year but when a child is involved, the situation could get even worse.

According to the lawsuit, Ciara points out a few interviews Future did where he spoke on her and Russell Wilson, including a radio show where Future spoke on Russell walking baby Future in a stroller. “She probably set him [Russell] up,” he said at the time. “You letting them catch that photo. Leave my son out of all the publicity stunts.”

She also references his January twitter rant where he said, “This bitch got control problems. I gotta go through lawyers to see babyfuture…the fuckery for 15k a month. I just want babyfuture that’s all.”

The likelihood of a jury awarding the singer that amount of money if she prevails is very slim but it is enough to get the two to be more civil towards each other.

According to sources who was inside a Philadelphia courtroom where Robert Williams professionally known as Meek Mill pleaded with a judge not to send him back to prison for violating the terms of his parole. The courtroom was packed with Williams’s family, friends and girlfriend Nicki Minaj. Williams violated the terms of his probation when he failed to inform the court that he was traveling out of town for work.

If there was any doubt that the judge in his case was going to go light on him that didn’t appear to be the cause because he will be required to remain under house arrest for 90 days and wear an ankle monitor and not release any music commercially or even release a mixtape because in doing so he would be in violation of his probation and likely would be sent to prison. Mill will have to start serving his house arrest on March 1 and will only be allowed to leave his home to feed the homeless.

Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley on Friday ordered Mill to serve 90 days on house arrest, effective March 1, for violating the terms of his parole in a 2009 drug and gun case. Meek Mill stated to the judge that his busy schedule was the reason why he had violated and while he was facing jail time, he thanked the judge for believing in him and hoped she would give him a second chance. Our sources stated that Nicki Minaj broke down in tears while she was watching the rapper plead for leniency.

“I just want to ask you for a chance to turn that corner and be a changed man,” he said. “You said you saw something in me … I want to prove you right. I believe I can be the bright star you intended me to be.”

Prosecutors described violations that include unapproved travel to New York for a benefit concert and efforts to join Minaj in various cities. They also said he turned in cold water instead of urine for a drug test, making the judge question if a prior problem with painkillers was at issue.

Minaj told the judge in December that she was trying to help her boyfriend become more organized and responsible. They have been frequently been seated courtside at the Philadelphia 76ers games for the past two months, since Brinkley ordered Mill not to leave the Philadelphia area.

Minaj did not testify Friday. At one point during the judge’s remarks, she appeared to have been crying.

Meek Mill is represented by Attorney Frank Desimore but was not available for comment at press time.

With the systematic burning of black churches across America, many are wondering why in the world a more aggressive approach has not happened to combat this type of racism in America. If the terrorist organization ISIS were to hold racist protests across American communities, their presence would be met with great resistance by the Government as well as by those who stand for justice for all. So why are not white supremacist organizations treated like terror groups in this country? Clear evidence is available that shows that these type of organizations will waste no time in killing innocent black people and many also believe terror suspect Dylann Roof didn’t act alone.

Yvette Carnell of BreakingBrown.com had an interesting and profound view on why Christians should not be so quick to forgive. As she pointed out in her video, Dylann Roof never asked for their forgiveness so why are they so quick to offer it? To do so as she pointed out is to invite others to commit similar heinous acts without retribution.  Carnell also believes that Barack Obama is not doing enough to combat domestic terrorism as the President and blacks shouldn’t simply support him because he is the president. Why isn’t he using his executive powers to appoint a special czar to deal with the systematic burning of black churches? Why is he singing a song that was wrote by a former slave master in a black church? Check out the video above and let us know what you think?

Average guys wearing two chains pretending to be 2 chainz and girls wearing red hair trying to be Rihanna. When you take a look around the black community, it’s evident that hip hop has had a lot of influence on us. Women only check for men if their attire matches the attire in the latest rap video and men looking for women that are the equivalent of the video models seen on BET. The black community is a far cry away from where we use to be when we marched and created our own standards and values to live by.

diddyvote

In a sense, hip hop’s influence has been used in a positive way. In 2004 Diddy was the lead man for the “Vote or die” campaign which saw young adults hit the polls in record numbers. As a young African-American male, I can appreciate that but I didn’t like the fact that it took hip hop for us to take voting seriously. The thing about hip hop and the entertainment business is that not all the influences are positive. Most of the music out today promotes infidelity and tears down the character of our women, the same women that gave birth to us and raised us. Just think about it, Rick Ross has your b*tch tip toeing on his marbles and all 2 chainz wants is a big booty hoe. I could go on with lyrics that glorifies cheating, disrespect women and violence. Hip hop’s influence on the black community is okay when we went from throwback jerseys to button ups because Jay-Z told us it was cool, or when Kanye West showed the world you can rock pink polo’s and still be manly.

When sixteen year olds start selling drugs and carrying guns because their favorite rapper makes that life appealing, that’s where we need to change. Granted we can’t censor everything our children listen to and if we censor music we have to censor movies and other forms of media sending a similar message.

We are consumers and we are the very reason artists are able to buy the newest Porsche or the latest drop. Since this is the case, we as consumers are able to boycott certain music and other forms of media that destroy our image and what our ancestors before us worked so hard to establish. The influence of hip hop on the black community is welcomed when it encourages growth and sends a positive message, but we can’t continue to let it destroy our image or our children.

The newest member of Power 105 Angie Martinez, sits down with Bad Boy artist French Montana and Khloe Kardashian. You’ve probably seen many photos of the two hanging out in Los Angeles or some exotic unknown vacation spot but they stopped by power 105 and shed light on their relationship. French speaks on fasting during the month of Ramadan and having to give up sex, among other things for an entire month. Giving up sex for a month is tough enough, lying next to Khloe Kardashian every night makes it almost impossible.

Although we’ve all been exposed to the life of the Kardashian family, the couple speaks on trying to keep up a healthy relationship while keeping parts of their lives hidden and off camera.

When asked if they care about comments from people Khloe said “People are going to comment no matter what, if I dated the most clean-cut perfect guy they’re going to comment that’s just the way it is. So if I’m having fun and if I like this kid no one else should care they’re not fucking him.” You can tell by this interview that the two are taking things slowly, having fun and enjoying life. After Khloe’s tough and public split from Lamar Odom and French’s baby mama issues, it’s nice to see the two together and in good spirits.

Fun fact: Neither of them have filed for divorce so let’s see how this will play out.
