Battle of the Filmmakers: Tyler Perry Tells Spike Lee to “Go Straight to Hell”

| April 21, 2011 | 0 Comments

Recently filmmaker Tyler Perry expressed his displeasure at how conscious filmmaker Spike Lee has been criticizing him on the type of movies he creates. He told Spike Lee via a recent interview that he could go straight to hell.  During a recent interview to promote his upcoming movie Perry had this to say to a reporter:

I’m so sick of hearing about damn Spike Lee. Spike can go straight to hell! I am sick of him saying, ‘This is a coon, this is a buffoon.’ I am sick of him talking about black people going to see movies. This is what he said: ‘You vote by what you see’ — as if black people don’t know what they want to see. I am sick of him. He talked about Whoopi, he talked about Oprah, he talked about me, he talked about Clint Eastwood. Spike needs to shut the hell up!

Knowing how vocal Spike Lee can be, we doubt that he will let these words go unanswered.
