Bill O’Reilly & Lupe Fiasco
The controversial Bill O’Reilly of Fox News addressed rapper Lupe Fiasco’s recent comments regarding President Obama and The United States labeling him [Obama] as “the biggest terrorist.” According to reports, when O’Reilly first invited Lupe to The O’Reilly Factor to discuss and defend his remarks which he had previously explained, he declined.
“Mr. Fiasco has been invited on ‘The Factor’ but has declined, possibly because he could not possibly defend that remark, which makes him a pinhead,” O’Reilly said. But Lupe denied the claims via twitter stating that he would “NEVER turn down the opp to push billys buttons!”
So yesterday (June 20) Lupe Fiasco finally appeared on the O’Reilly Factor and entered into a heated debate with O’Reilly.
Lupe explained that it all stemmed from questions about his song “Words I Never Said” where he addresses terrorism. “The statement that I made which was I believe that the biggest terrorist, Obama AND the United States of America and its foreign policy; that was what the whole context of everything was. And it’s really just an expression of me trying to [I guess] understand critically the society.”
O’Reilly began by defending Obama, “President is NOT a terrorist, he’s trying to do what he believes is the right thing to do.” He then went on to say “This is what gets me, that your constituencies are not exactly Political Science Ph.D.’s ok, they’re impressionable kids.”
Lupe responded with “I don’t think that matters….. And I don’t think that politics are as complex as people like to make them seem or out to be.”
In other words it turned into a rebuttal with both of them raising their voices and talking over one another. While Lupe attempted to make his point more transparant, do you believe he achieved his objective or is he a pinhead as some have suggested?
