Big Sean is denying allegations that he and a friend sexually assaulted a woman following his concert in Lewiston, N.Y. Thursday (Aug. 4). The 23-year-old was arrested after his set on Wiz Khalifa‘s Rolling Papers tour, after the woman complained that he had unlawfully touched her. He was arrested and charged with third-degree sexual abuse, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and forcible touching, but was released after posting $500 bail.

In a statement released to The BoomBox by his lawyer, Scott Leemon, Sean has blasted the assault accusation and has every intention of clearing his name. “Last night, recording artists, Sean ‘Big Sean’ Anderson and Willie ‘Sayitainttone’ Hansbro were arrested and then immediately released by the NY State Police in connection with an allegation made by a female who was at their concert in Lewiston, New York. Both men were charged with misdemeanors and they both vehemently deny the allegations,” said Leemon. “I am confident, that after further investigation, both men will be vindicated.”

This scandal comes just two months after the Detroit rapper released his debut LP, ‘Finally Famous,’ which came in at No. 3 on the Billboard album charts, selling 87,000 copies in its first week. A protégé of Kanye West, Sean is poised to become the next big thing, receiving support from the likes of Jay-Z and other hip-hop heavyweights at a show in New York City over the summer.

While the details surrounding the supposed incident have yet to be released, meeting girls while on tour has become a routine occurrence for the rapper. “Girls just taking their [breasts] out everywhere,” he told The BoomBox of his experiences on the road. “I remember one time I was trying to do a hardcore speech about my grandma and a girl took her chest out… it was like super distracting. Girls grabbing, trying to take everything off, meeting us at our hotel rooms, but all in all, it’s just been a crazy experience.”

There are always two sides to a story and while an arrest means only that the police felt they had enough evidence to charge the rapper, no one should assume that he is guilty of the charges.
