Film Review!! The Closing Curtain on Harry Potter Era

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows (pt.2)

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and here we are at the end of an era. Picking up where the first part ended with Voldemort acquiring The Elder Wand from Dumbledore’s grave, while Harry and his friends continue on their journey to find and destroy the Horcruxes.

Along the way the trio encounters many dangerous obstacles and risks their lives to complete the task. There are four Horcruxes left and Harry knows the location of one in particular, but getting to it is more difficult than he plans. Facing a deceitful goblin and escaping on the back of a dragon, Harry comes to realize Voldemort has become aware of his plan.

The action speeds up at this point because Harry has to beat Voldemort to the final three Horcruxes. The race leads them to Hogwarts, where a huge battle begins involving all the teachers and students. Professor Snape is the new headmaster and another nemesis of Harry, or so he thought.  The truth about Snape and the final Horcux is revealed at the peak of the battle. Harry uses this information to face Voldemort one on one.

This finale will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end and you will find yourself a bit torn between happy and sad moments, but the touch of comedy will balance that out. Anyone who has followed the story from the beginning will enjoy how it plays out, and those not so familiar with the story will probably feel a little confused.   It’s not the kind of series you can catch up on at the end.

There are so many connections and messages that only true Potter fans will understand. Although if you happen to catch the end first it will definitely make you want to know more. The finale follows the book perfectly, very few things were left out but I think it was done that way so the movies make sense, and for those who haven’t read the series.
