Hundreds attended a protest rally held at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta to oppose several state legislative bills including Senate Bill 469 which would criminalize picketing, sit-ins, and other non-violent actions outside private residences resulting in potential fines – $1,000 a day for individuals and up to $10,000 a day for organizations.  The bill has passed the Senate and is on its way to Committee.

The rally began with songs and chants, then the group marched around the Capitol three times before reassembling to listen to speeches from political luminaries including Congressman John Lewis, Sen. Vincent Fort, D-Atlanta, and former Atlanta city council member Derrick Boazman.

The protest was sponsored by several local organizations including Occupy Atlanta and the Teamsters Union.
