These days in Hip Hop, when artists collaborate on a mix-tape they have already recorded a few songs together and have a buzz in the streets begging for a body of work between them. In Stuey Rock and Future’s case, that is not the situation. Stuey Rock, half of hot 107.9’s dirty boys and St. Louis native, said that the collaboration with Future, one of the hottest artists in the streets of Atlanta, came about through their personal friendship.

The chemistry is shown on the intro track to the mix tape FDU/Free Bandz produced by Will A Fool. When the beat drops it instantly sets the mood with dark bells and the lyrics in the hook explain the purpose behind the movement between both artists respectively.  The lead and radio ready single “Shinin” produced by Nard & B has a feel-good, up tempo beat and a hook that will be stuck in your head all summer.

Though this is a mix tape with songs featuring both artists, Future and Stuey stepped out to record individual singles as well. Futures “Tony Montana” produced by Will A Fool already had the clubs on fire prior to its release. Future explains why he is a modern day Tony Montana over a mean snare and a Halloween like piano.

Stuey Rock has his own banger with “Drunker Den a Fool” produced by Mr. Hanky that is a wild-out, body rocking thrill ride with Stuey Rock painting a picture of a day in the life of FDU in a club doing their thing.  The mix-tape does stick to its audience but lacks the concept substance that other artists in the city are putting out.

FDU and Free Bands is a sure shot winner in clubs, cars, and in the bedroom for the summer time.

Here is the tracklist for the Mixtape:
