Jay, Pimp C, & Bun B share a moment on set of “Big Pimpin”

Yesterday Rap mogul Jay Z celebrated his 44th birthday by releasing and honoring the late-great Pimp C with a remix of “Tom Ford”. We all know this single from Hov’s latest album Magna Carta Holy Grail. Tragically Pimp C passed away on December 4th 2007 the same day as Jay’s birthday, so this tribute was only right. There is history between Pimp C and Jay. “Big Pimpin” was a landmark moment in the late 90’s  for hip-hop because it was one of the first tracks to bridge rappers from the East Coast and the South.  “Big Pimpin” was the final single from Jay Z’s fourth album “Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter.” Check out the full track to Jay Z’s “Tom Ford” remix with Pimp C here.
