The Philadelphia 76ers retired Allen Iverson’s No. 3 jersey on Saturday during halftime of their game against the Washington Wizards at the Wells Fargo Center.

Allen Iverson, an 11-time All-Star, was selected No. 1 by the 76ers in the 1996 draft and  spent the first 10-plus years of his career in Philly and became the face of the franchise.  Officially retiring in 2013, A.I. also played brief stints with the Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies.

Iverson was also presented with a boxing championship belt by the 76ers honoring him as the “best pound for pound” as well as a fishing boat called “The Answer.”

Iverson becomes the eighth player in Sixers franchise history to have his jersey retired, joining: Charles Barkley (No. 34), Wilt Chamberlain (No. 13), Maurice Cheeks (No. 10), Billy Cunningham (No. 32), Julius Erving (No. 6), Hal Greer (No. 15) and Bobby Jones (No. 24).

Check out the footage from the ceremony as well as A.I. thanks his fans, Michael Jordan and his family for the inspiration.
