While the right and left are fighting over how to solve our country’s health care issues, prominent rapper/ actor Ludacris has taken matters into his own hands by creating his own concept of a stimulus package via giving back to the community. Last week, Christopher Bridges better known as Ludacris announced through the airwaves that people should go to his nonprofit Ludacris Foundation website and write a 300 word essay on why they believed they should get a new car.

This was reminiscent of what Oprah Winfrey did on her popular show last year by giving cars away to her audience but leave it to Luda to add a some swag to it. In keeping with the spirit of his Luda Day Weekend of giving back to the community, he has made 20 lucky families a lot happier this year. The winners also received 30 days of gas and the only stipulation was that they pay the taxes on the vehicles and their registration fees. “If more of our leaders in the hip hop community did what Ludacris has continuously done, it would send a positive message and eliminate some of the negative connation’s associated with the culture” stated Hip Hop Enquirer’s Editor-in-chief Dennis Byron. “Responsible journalism is not just reporting on the negative in hip hop but also on the ones that are doing something positive should be paid homage to.”

In addition to Ludacris giving back to the needy, he has found time to also show love to some of his colleagues in the entertainment community by hosting several star studded parties and a highly attended Gifting Suite organized by his Disturbing the Piece Record Label and The Garner Circle.
