The 2011 Jackie Robinson Foundation Annual Awards Dinner was held  at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

March 7th (New York City) – For three decades the Jackie Robinson Foundation Awards Dinner has been hosted by the legendary comedic/actor Bill Cosby. The iconic event is known for its recognition toward individuals who exemplify similar humanitarian ideals as the late Jackie Robinson; he left us with his compassionate ethical practices. ·The Foundation provides generous, four-year college scholarships, graduate school grants and extensive mentoring to academically distinguished minority students with financial need and records of leadership capacity.

The awards event promised nothing but memorable moments and this year’s tribute dinner honored one of the most deserving individuals in music, fashion and film who has found a way to stay relevant while keeping the culture of hip hop alive.  The ROBIE Achievement in Industry Awards was presented to Sean “Diddy” Combs and Joseph R. Perella. There were several others who were also honored for their ability to exemplify Jackie Robinson’s caring spirit.

Sean “Diddy” Combs, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bad Boy Entertainment Group, was recognized for his music and fashion contributions and charitable achievements.

Diddy has been a major player in the game for many years and it is only fitting that he is being honored to receive one of the most prestigious awards in the world.

This year’s honorees;  pioneers in their own right,” observed Jackie Robinson Foundation President and Chief Executive Office Della Britton Baeza, “ These individuals represent the spirit and unwavering values of the Foundation and its commitment to prepare our young leaders.”

Hip Hop mogul Diddy is an inspiration to many individuals and continues to be a role model for our youth and his entrepreneur spirit and forward thinking makes him a master of the game. Congrats Mr. Combs!
