Hip hop icon Snoop Dogg has come up with a master plan! The west coast rapper has been pitching a TV series to various networks to discover the next hot hip hop star.

Snoop has been hyping that it would rap’s “American Idol” and as big as Idol. TV executives are not buying it, in fact, Oxygen, Bravo and NBC were all not fascinated but E and MTV have shown some interest.

He’s also working on bringing in a celebrity panel of hip-hop icons to judge and mentor young acts as they compete.  According to one of Snoop’s reps, “He wants to bring in an old-school legend, and he wants to get Jay-Z.”

Reps for Jay-Z have denied his involvement. So far, rapper Wiz Khalifa has shown interest and will likely be involved.

Snoop recently said, “I’m looking for a deal from a network to find America’s hottest ‘hood artists’.”

Should we be on the lookout for “Hood Idol”?
