Snoop Dogg is attempting to break a Twitter record set last year by Rev. Run in the Guinness Book of World Records for most re-tweets. Starting today, Snoop will send out a message to his 4 million fans to re-tweet between 12.00 a.m. and 12 a.m. Wednesday morning.
In a statement to AllHipHop.com he said, “Hitting four million Twizzles is a big moment for me and I want to thank all my fans for their continued support. I want to show the world how powerful and influential social media and my fans are, which is why I am attempting to set the world record for the most retweets on Twitter.”
He will promote his efforts using Twitter, Facebook, Ustream and other social networks. Dan Barrett, the community manager of the Guinness Book said, “We’re always excited to see new records set in the world of social media and as with all potential record breakers we wish Snoop Dogg the best of luck with his attempt. We will be liasing directly with Twitter on the verification process.”
