Waffle House Robberies in Atlanta

| August 12, 2011 | 1 Comment

A string of Waffle House robberies has been reported around Atlanta and this past week, another one hit. The Waffle House located at 1945 Rockbridge Road was robbed, and although police have not connected this one with the other robberies, this makes a total of 18 hits.

Gwinnett County police reported that the robbery took place between 5:15 and 5:30 am. Officer S.D. Martin was called to the scene while the robbery was still in progress. Two employees were sitting on the roof when he arrived, they were afraid to re-enter the building. One employee said he was taking a break, talking on his phone, when a man approached him with a T-shirt tied around his face. The man allegedly pulled out a gun and said, “You better run before I kill you.” The employee ran inside, warned his co-worker and they fled to the roof.

Upon reviewing the surveillance tape, the police saw that the two men were not able to open the register, but did get the employee’s laptop. One of the men was described as wearing a green shirt and camouflage hat. He was also wearing black shorts and black shoes. The second man was wearing a red cap with a black shirt pulled over his face.

Waffle House is offering a $2,500 reward for any information that leads to an arrest or conviction. Police advised anyone who has seen the two suspects to call 911. Anyone with tips should call the Norcross PD tip line at 770-448-6457.
