On Sunday, an Oregon woman decided to go shopping in Wal-Mart with her bikini on. Sandy McMillin went shopping for some snacks in 90 degree heat but didn’t think to put on a shirt before she entered the store. She was several minutes into her shopping trip when a Wal-Mart employee approached her with two options: put a shirt on or get out.

McMillin says “I was horrified, I am embarrassed. It’s wrong, if you don’t like the way someone looks, don’t look at them…. I hadn’t done anything obnoxious or outlandish.” Wal-Mart spokeswoman Ashley Hardie explained to KVAL news that the shopper “verbally abused” other folks at the scene, but she was never taken outside. On the other hand McMillin claims she was escorted out. Hardie also says, “We can understand her frustration. It was not our intention to offend the customer and we apologized to her.”

I’ve never known Wal-Mart to have a dress code and everyone has gotten that email with pictures of people in Wal-Mart wearing things worse than a string bikini. If Sandy McMillin was more appealing to the average eye, I’m sure she would not have been asked to leave and this would be a completely different story. A photo of Sandra McMillin is below, what do you think?
