Keyshia Cole & Trina

Miami rapper Trina is a veteran in the music game and has definitely held it down for the ladies in the rap game. Trina has been recognized by B.E.T almost consistently, minus three years; she was first nominated for category ‘Best Female Hip Hop Artist’ in 2001.

Yesterday (May 18) when announcements for 2011 BET Awards were made, Trina immediately took to her twitter to give BET a few announcements of her own. Trina states, “F*** BET,” as she was snubbed for this years ‘‘Best Female Hip Hop Artist.” The nominees include Cymphonique, Lola Monroe, Nicki Minaj and Diamond.

Trina wasn’t the only urban celebrity feeling out of the loop. Keyshia Cole states, “Its like this. Been on the scene 7 years. I was 21 when I got signed. 7 #1 records. No awards 4 none of them/still touring. It is Wht it is. These types of thing R the way they R. I’m not upset about any of it in any way. I hope everyone that goes has a wonderful time. That awkward moment when u realize in everyone’s eyes your not the sh*t anymore. #POW. I’ve officially got the memo. Thank mtv/bet.”
