This couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy and we mean character wise because while many were confused why the Def Jam label signed Trinidad James in the first place, they obviously decided to let him go almost as quickly as they signed the Atlanta rapper. In 2012, it was rumored that the rapper received a multi-million dollar deal to sign with the label but the number couldn’t be confirmed at press time.

The rapper did have a short but sweet run in the music industry as a major label signee having not been doing music for that long at all. With the hit of his street anthem, “All Gold Everything” James was constantly being compared to the character Jerome from the Martin Lawrence show and many insiders speculated that his deal with the label wouldn’t last long at all.

He tweeted the following last night:

Do you think he has a chance with another major label or should he focus on his independent grind?
