Future’s break-up with then fiance’ and mother of his newest son, Ciara, has made many headlines as the two have not said the kindest of words about each other in the media. Add in the fact that Ciara moved on to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and the two seem to be very close, Ciara and Future’s son, hangs out with Russell.
Many questions have been asked about this relationship, but one answer has come out that many may have not thought about. What does the Seahawks team DJ allowed to play now? In an interview with Billboard DJ DV One who is responsible for the music of the Seahawks, says the conflict of interests restricts him from playing Future.
I’ve been getting a lot of requests for Future. But that dynamic is weird too, because I can barely play Future with Ciara running around and that’s her baby’s dad. It’s just that he has a dope-ass album out right now, players like to hear it, it definitely gets you pumped up — even though it’s low-tempo, it’s still stuff that you want to hear — and then you’ve got Ciara running up with little baby Future and she’s dating Russell so it’s like, “Oh f—.”
It is not just Future’s trap anthems that are getting the snub, but Ciara’s catalog as well. DV One does not want anyone to think he is playing her music because of who she is with, so he just avoids her music as well.
I also feel weird playing Ciara, because I was playing Ciara before she started dating Russell. I’d play “Goodies” and stuff like that for the crowd because it’s good music that white people know — it’s dance-y music, it’s popular, it’s stuff that you can get away with playing. Now that she’s dating Russell, I don’t want people to be like, “He’s just playing that because she’s dating Russell.”
This love triangle has so many levels to it. Hopefully Ciara and Russell Wilson do last because if they were to break up, DJ DV One would have clue what to do with his playlist then.
