Some of Atlanta’s most influential individuals in entertainment and civic circles mingled and conversed at the Uptown Lounge last Friday while raising nearly $5000 in charitable donations for Haiti earthquake relief efforts. Entertainment veteran Shanti Das, UpFront Megatainment and DeVyne Intervention founder Devyne Stephens alongside 11 Alive Karyn Greer spearheaded the event that featured a power line-up of professionals, athletes and representatives from around the city.
Showing their support and co-hosting “Happy Hour For Haiti” were Turner Entertainment Network’s Ryan Glover, V103 celebrity morning host Frank Ski, Peter Thomas, ATL City Councilman Kwanza Hall, Attorney Marvin Arrington Jr, Captain Munnerlyn of the Carolina Panthers, Shante Paige of Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns, attorney/City Councilwoman Keisha Lance Bottoms, socialite Kenny Burns and Tre Constant, a representative from the Haitian Alliance. All proceeds raised that night were donated to the Wyclef Jean’s Foundation, Yéle Haiti and Atlanta Cares. Similar initiatives are currently being arranged for future events and fundraisers, in order to continue providing support during Haiti’s long road to restoration.
