Breaking News: Aubrey Louis Berry Found Not Guilty of Killing Rapper Dolla

    NOT GUILTY

    The jury has just returned a not guilty verdict in the murder trial of Aubrey Louis Berry. Hip Hop Enquirer will be bringing you exclusive interviews with the attorneys, one of the jurors, and the man acquitted of the shooting death of rapper Dolla.

    Prosecutor Robert Grace told the jury today in Department 102 that the murder of Roderick Anthony Burton II was a callous, calculated shooting by a man who then calmly ordered a valet to get his car and drove around the body of rapper Dolla referring to Aubrey Louis Berry.

    Defense attorney Howard Price stated during his opening that his client believed that Roderick Anthony Burton II was an active member of the Mansfield Crips and that his client feared for his life.

    Defense Wants to Put The Slain Rapper’s Music On Trial
    Although their was no other weapons recovered during the shooting, Price intends to present evidence of the slain rapper’s music to show the jury how his lyrics contained enough violence to make his client believe his life was in danger.

    The prosecution called employees from both Airtran & Southwest Airlines to testify as to what were their procedures for a license gun owner to follow in order for a weapon to be brought onto the plane. In addition to their testimony, Dolla’s girlfriend Crystal Jackson testified that he was in town to celebrate her 21st Birthday at Club Apple and that she was excited that he was going to be there for it.

    Crystal Jackson, former girlfriend of Burton testified that he came to town to celebrate her 21st birthday and that they had planned a party for her at Club Apple on May 16th 2009. Her testimony is expected to continue tomorrow as she was the last witness to be called.

    Berry sat at the defense table wearing a white button down shirt, an indigo blue cardigan sweater and dark slacks. At one point during the trial Berry looked over at Dolla’s mother Dawnee Robinson but for the most part he maintained a stoic look during the proceedings.
