Even with Lil Wayne recently releasing a new EP and about to be released from Rikers Island, his fans worldwide are wondering what’s next for Weezy and hip hop since Atlanta rapper Clifford “TI” Harris is scheduled to surrender to federal authorities to begin his 11 month stint today.

Mentor, Father-figure and Cash Money co-founder Bryan “Baby” Williams spoke to EW.com about the plans of the New Orleans superstar.

“Me knowing Wayne, he’s going into the studio,” Birdman said. “He hasn’t been able to rap for months. I think after seeing the family, popping a few bottles, its back to basics. Family first; that’s what we believe in, that’s what we’re loyal to. After that, I think the same day he comes home, he’s going to go straight to the studio.”

Producer Bangladesh Putting Birdman on blast!

As for the next chapter in the anticipated Tha Carter series, nothing is set for Tha Carter IV just yet. However, Baby does expect to see the album ready within the first quarter of 2011. There are also plans to follow up their successful 2006 collaboration Like Father, Like Son. “We’re planning on putting that out Father’s Day weekend,” he said. “[We’re] bringing that Cash Money/Young Money sound, that traditional hard-body rap, the music that we do together—One thing is for certain, Baby and the Cash Money label is about their business when not fighting lawsuits with unpaid producers…pow!
