Flavor Flav
After just 4 months in the business, Flav’s Fried Chicken in Clinton, Iowa, suddenly closed its doors. The restaurant was founded by business partners Nick Cimino and Flavor Flav, who founded 80s hip hop group Public Enemy and also stared in VH1’s “The Surreal Life.”
Flav explained to WQAD-TV that Cimino, who is the Restaurant Manager, “isn’t running the business right” and that he was pulling the license that allowed Cimino to use his name.
Some of the former employees also complained that they were not paid and checks for as low as $150 had bounced.
Cimino claims Flav was just as unhappy with the partnership. “I started this,” he told WQAD.com. “I put together everything from the menu to the color of the building to the sign. I did everything.” He continued on to say, “…he’s a fraud. He doesn’t want to be hurt with the other ventures he’s doing and he wants to become a millionaire off my dime, off my ideas.”
Despite the quick closing of Flav’s Fried Chicken, Flav hasn’t given up his dreams of entering the restaurant industry. He has already mentioned plans to open an entertainment venue/restaurant in Las Vegas called “Flavor Flav’s House of Flavor.”
