Jay Z
In a recent interview with Delta Airlines’ Sky Magazine, hip- hop mogul Jay-Z addressed his alleged affiliation with the historical secret organization known as Illuminati.
It has been rumored for a couple of years now that Jay along with many other rappers and entertainers are members of the group. Although he has shaken off the rumors for the most part, the discussion continues. In the magazine’s feature, Jay claims people just can’t handle his success:
“It may sound a little arrogant, but I just think people can’t handle when somebody else is successful. Something has gotta be wrong; you gotta be down with some higher power. And I guess when someone else is successful, it makes you feel like maybe you’re a failure. So it can’t be you, it has to be some other force.”
He also attempted to shoot down rumors last summer in his verse on Rick Ross’ “Free Mason.”
In the song, he rapped, “I said that I was amazing, not that I’m a Mason/ It’s amazing that I made it through the maze that I was in/ Lord forgive me, I never woulda made it without sin/ Holy water, my face in the basin/ Diamonds in my rosary shows he forgave him/ B*tch I’m red hot, I’m on my third six but a devil I’m not.”
He also explains what prompted him the write the book “Decoded”. “After being on her [Oprah’s] show, I thought, ‘Man, I need to broaden this out and open this conversation and give it context’ because people were making judgments on the music and the writing without knowing what’s being said or why.”
