Lil Wayne & Birdman
New Orleans, LA rappers Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter and Brian “Birdman” Williams are being sued AGAIN. This is their third lawsuit in just one week alone.
Bridgeport Music filed a lawsuit fir copyright infringement against Cash Money Records for Wayne and Birdman’s 2006 song “Army Gunz” off of their collaboration album “Like Father, Like Son.” The song samples the 1971 track from Funkadelic “You and Your Folks, Me and My Folks” from their album “Maggot Brain.” The song was produced by DJ Nasty but he is not named in the suit.
On June 9th producers Play-N-Skillz sued Lil Wayne for $1 million and on June 3rd, he was hit with a $1.5 million dollar lawsuit by producer David Kirkwood, both for unpaid royalties. Play-N-Skillz is suing for the track “Got Money” from his album “Tha Carter III”. Kirkwood is claiming royalties for work done with both Young Money and Cash Money.
Wayne was also previously sued by producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison and Producer Bangladesh.
Currently Lil Wayne is preparing for the release of “The Carter IV” scheduled to drop August 2011.
