The 2nd annual Blackout Awards was held last night (June 12) at the Newark Hilton Gateway Hotel in Newark, New Jersey. The event was created to honor top celebrity Fashion Stylists, Hair Stylists, Make-Up Artists and Photographers.
Hosted by 4 -time Emmy Award winning make-up artist, Karen Dupiche the night was filled with honoring the talented individuals behind the scenes of the entertainment industry.
Honorees for the night included “For Colored Girls” playwright, Ntozake Shange with the Lifetime Achievement Award, Crystal Wright with the Vanguard Award, and award-winning journalist from Inside Edition and BET April Woodard with the Trailblazer Award.

The Blackout Awards also awarded International HIV/AIDS Activist, Hydeia Broadbent with the first-ever Blackout Humanitarian Award.
