It was a love match made in mafia war heaven but now the love has tanked. Devastated by a failed Facebook romance, a Detroit woman is suing a man she met playing mafia wars for misleading her.
Cheryl Gray (50) filed a civil lawsuit against Wylie Iwan (35) with the 16th District Court in Michigan worth $8,000 in damages claiming misrepretation and defamation of character. The two first met playing Mafia Wars on Facebook. Over a 6 month period the two spoke very frequently and sent messages to each other that indicated that “ I’m falling in love with you.”
Gray is seeking repayment for gifts she lavished her online suitor with ranging over $1200, including Seattle Mariners Season tickets.
Iwan sent Gray a message saying that he had met someone else one week after Gray purchased an airplane ticket to visit him in Washington State.
After the virtual split, Gray said that Iwan humiliated her on facebook by making obscene and vulgar comments for public viewing.
The two sides are expected to be in court regarding the motion to dismiss the case on August 1 at 9:00am.
