ATLANTA – A man now identified as Nkosi Thandiwe, 22, is being charged with 1st degree murder as well as other violent crimes for the broad daylight killing of a woman and injuring two others. Hip Hop Enquirer Magazine was one of the first on the scene to witness the aftermath of one of the most brazen shootings that has occurred in the area in a very long time.

Law enforcement authorities have identified Brittney Watts, 26 of Decatur, Georgia as the deceased person shot by Thandiwe who apparently was waiting for her to return to her vehicle at a parking garage located at 14th street and Crescent Avenue.

According to police, Watts was fatally shot one time in the neck by the accused then he allegedly stole her Toyota Prius automobile. Police also stated that as the suspect was fleeing the parking garage, he shot two other women identified as Lauren Garcia, a 23 year old intern, and 24 year old Tiffany Ferenczy, both employed at the MSL Group, a public relations firm directly across the street from the shooting.

Police believe the suspect waited for the victim to return to the parking garage in what they characterized as a possible revenge killing. Another local resident, Shelbi Sane, who resides at the 1010 Condominium, stated she “heard the gunshots from her patio. This doesn’t happen in midtown, especially at noon, it’s just crazy!”

The suspect learned that the police were looking for him and decided to retain an attorney prior to his surrender according to Police spokesman Carlos Campos.

Thandiwe waived his right to a preliminary hearing for bond this morning and is scheduled to appear in Fulton County Criminal court on July 29th. There was no bond set at press time. If convicted, he could possibly face the death penalty.

The last time Atlanta had this type of audacious shooting was back in March of 2005 when Brian Nichols shot and killed four individuals which included a Fulton County Superior Court Judge, a Deputy Sheriff, A US Federal Agent and the judge’s Law Clerk. Nichols is serving double life sentence with no chance of parole in a Georgia prison.

At the time, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard sought the death penalty, which ended up costing the taxpayers several millions of dollars only to have the jury decide he didn’t deserve to die.
