Shyne
Former Bad Boy artist and ex-con Shyne has taken another turn in his career and life. After serving nearly 10 years in prison for a shooting that took place on a night out with the rapper’s former mentor P.Diddy, Shyne is back. He’s currently working on two albums, has become an Orthodox Jew and is giving up sex and profanity.
According to the Jewish Chronicle, Shyne now resides in Israel where has been studying Chasidism (a sect of Judaism) and turned over a new leaf in his life. The rapper who once made a living rhyming about sex, drugs and murder has decided to put those things behind him.

Shyne, born Jamal Michael Barrow, converted to Judaism and changed his name to Moses Michael Levi. He promises his upcoming albums will reflect his new love for Judaism and will be profanity free and his videos will no longer feature barely dressed women.
“You know what? You know how much I love women, I’m going to be shomer habris [abstain from sex until marriage] until this record comes out,” Shyne told The JC.
In 2012 he is planning to release his albums Messiah and Gangland. One is a collaborative effort with Jewish reggae star Matisyahu.
