Hudson Mohawke is really up to something. The producer from Glasgow, Scotland has followed a trend of a new style of production that is a blend of techno and hip hop. Other producers such as Diplo (M.I.A., Kanye West) and Arrab Muzic (Diplomats) have been using this style for a while but none of the two have displayed the quality skills of mixing your favorite slow jams with a original bass line and snare with melodies and pianos like this kid.
He has gained recognition from international artists and has been traveling Europe’s night scene displaying his talents at the continent’s largest club venues. He is signed to Warp Records and released his debut album Butter in October 2009.
American artist such as Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West, and Rick Ross are rappers that would cater to his style. Be on the lookout for production credits from Hudson on songs from other American artists because this Scottish beat maker will bring his talents across the pond sooner than expected.
