Dave Chappelle
For the first time in five years, comedian Dave Chappelle has finally opened up in an interview with San Francisco hosts Rico, JV, and Selena of Wild 94.9 radio station. In the long awaited interview, Chappelle discusses a few awkward moments on stage and several criticisms he has received as a comedian.
“Comedy is a very approval-oriented field,” says Chappelle after recalling an incident in which an audience member repeatedly asked him to “Shut the f*%k up.” Chappelle also spoke about his reluctance to return to television because he is attempting to “kick” his addiction to fame.
It is ironic that Chappelle considers fame an addiction but does not think the same of his heavy weed smoking. In addition, Chappelle also gives his opinion on other comedians such as Nick Cannon and further admits that he gets slightly annoyed when audience members boo and complain because, as a performer of any kind, you aim to do well.
