Justin Bieber arrives at the 2011 VMAs
If nothing else, the MTV Video Music Awards is a celebration of all the latest trends worn by the world’s biggest stars in the music industry. No one really knows, cares or remembers who won anything the next day. But what he or she wore is sure to be the topic of conversation the entire fall season. Take a look at the pics of the good, the bad, and the WTF looks on the white carpet. Tell us what you think. Who had your favorite look of the night?
Kids grow up so fast these days don’t they? One minute, they’re prancing around in huggies and hoodies. The next, they’re all decked out in designer duds. Justin Bieber may still have a long way to go, but he certainly impressed us with his effort. The little black blazer, over red denim and leopard print kicks work very well together, and not to mention he’s got just the right amount of bling without going overboard. And kudos for who ever’s idea it was to add a touch of “geeky chic” with the glasses! Keep up the good work Justin!
Flo Rida and his date for the evening
While we don’t really pay that much attention to Flo Rida, we’ll def give props to him when they’re due. We gave a thumbs up to this look for the cleanliness of the style. With all the outlandish and at times gaudy outfits, its refreshing to see someone appropriately dressed for any occasion. You can never go wrong with shirt, tie and sweater, and an expensive looking piece on your arm as your date! Good job Flo!
SMH Kim
Its only been a few days since Kim Kardashian tied the knot with NBA hubby Kris Humphries and she’s already made her first public appearance looking like a frumpy old housewife. Instead of looking refreshed and relaxed after coming off of her honeymoon vacation, she appeared looking ill-fitted and fat in this boring, tacky, retired Vegas showgurl gown. The dress appears as though its being strecthed beyond capacity just to cover her up. You’ve got to do better Kim!
Is Nicki in there somewhere?
And the WTF moment goes to an absurd looking Nicki Minaj who looks as though she just escaped from a Japanese insane clown asylum. We’ve come to expect the wilder side of Nicki when she makes major appearances, but this is just plain cartoonishly ridiculous. There should have been an at home disclaimer warning viewers that seizures may occurr if this was stared at too long!
*yaaawn*
Fatherhood must’ve taken a depressing toll on R&B crooner Ne-Yo. This look is just plain boring. While he’s very well coordinated, the colors are extremely muted and there’s nothing about this look that’s either memorable are all that much stylish. The sad thing is we’ve seen him do so much better. This outfit probably would work better on a lesser known celebrity on an average night. But at the VMAs you’ve got to step it up way more than this.
Ms. Kelly
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what a celebrity looks like! Kelly Rowland proved once again why she’s regarded here at Hip Hop Enquirer as a style icon. Although we could’ve done without the sleeves, Kelly’s overall look was perfect for tonight’s show. A little black dress goes a long way when it’s got just the right amount of gold embellishments and feather detail. It’s at just the right length displaying Kelly’s gorgeous gams, and then there’s the plunging neckline serving up a hit plate of sex appeal! Well done Kelly!
