If you are familiar with the late Notorious B.I.G.’s classic album Life After Death, then I am sure you have heard this title once before. However, “You’re Nobody ‘Til Somebody Kills You” is now the title of a Hip Hop horror film being executively produced by Spike Lee and directed by Michael A. Pinckney. Details Inside.
The up and coming film which stars James McDaniel (NYPD Blue), Michael K. Williams (“The Wire” “Boardwalk Empire”), Michael Mosley (“Law & Order”) and Nashawn Kearse (“The Sopranos” “Entourage”) will feature appearances by hip hop legendaries such as Doug E. Fresh, Big Daddy Kane and Ed Lover. The film will take place in New York City as two New York Police Department officers aim to track down the serial killer who is murdering the biggest names in Hip Hop.The film is scheduled to premiere at the upcoming Williamsburg International Film Festival (also known as Willi Fest) in Brooklyn, New York. “Being that Spike and I are both from Brooklyn, it was only right that we premiere the film at Brooklyn’s very own Willifest, which was rated by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the Top 20 Coolest Film Festivals in the World in 2010,” said Pinckney. The film will debut this September 23rd at the Knitting Factory during the 2011 Williamsburg International Film Festival.
