With the beginning of Fall upon us, the Hip Hop community has seen its’ share of releases from major artists such as LIL Wayne, The Game, Jay-Z and Kanye West, who have all released their long awaited albums during the 3rd quarter of this year. The last of the big name releases set to drop is Atlanta’s own, Young Jeezy. On Monday, September 4th, he released The Real is Back 2, hosted by DJ Drama, ending all of the internet gossip surrounding a beef between the two.

This mixtape is a sequel to May’s first edition to the mixtape series. On this go-around there are fewer tracks which seem to focus on the newest addition to C.T.E, Freddie Gibbs representing Gary, Indiana. The mixtape series’ second edition is nothing out of the ordinary for the now veteran of modern day gangster rap. The mixtape should satisfy fans until the release of his fourth solo album, TM 103: Hustlers Ambition, which is set to drop on September 20th via Def Jam. The lyrics on this go-around feature the same topics as usual, though Jeezy and Gibbs display a few flows we have yet to hear from other artists so far this year. Birdman and Yo Gotti, along with C.T.E soldiers 211 and Slick Pulla make appearances on this mixtape. The overall vibe is great due to the fresh melodies and the loud bass lines that are expected. It’s a shame that such a quality mixtape will be overshadowed by the release of the album. On the bright side, it’s a well known fact that’s what Jeezy wanted for the streets.
