Clifford “Tip” Harris Wants to be 2011’s Remix KING

Clifford “TI” Harris

Ever since Tip’s release from prison in October, he has been killing remixes left and right. The King of the South is not letting anyone else get a chance. If there was any doubt that his throne was in jeopardy, he buried that thought just as quick as he buried the original versions of your favorite songs. It seems as if  T.I. wants to rap with the best in the game. Not to prove, but to remind fans that he is still on top.  On every verse T.I. shows that he is not apologetic and is bringing that I’m Serious T.I. back. This was a great idea due to the fact that the apologetic T.I. on No Mercy was not critically or street acclaimed. With the mission in plan the first thing he had to do was kill the clubs.

Let’s begin with 2 Chainz’s “Spend It”, which was a summer theme song until T.I. made it a fall and winter anthem. It was the first time we’ve heard from the King in a while, and he destroyed it. His new flow and attitude is reflected in every remix he hopped on after that. The King didn’t waste any time sliding on Future’s “Magic”. Since both artists hail from the same city as T.I., it was expected for him to come out and make sure he still had his city on lock. Things got serious when he hopped on the Ye and Jay confirmed remix to “N*****s In Paris”. His po-go stick flow was the topic on all blogs and websites because it had not been heard in a long time. With the Throne and the clubs under his belt it got ugly and  turned into a rampage.

Next up were the power groups. Why not start at the top? The King linked up with Shady records new assassin Yelawolf on his “Hard White Remix” (above) accompanied by Slaughterhouse. This was a route few rappers have taken due to the level of lyricism Shady’s camp is known for. As fans can tell, the King loves competition and never falls short in battle.  As of the November, he went for the Young Money team on Wayne’s “She Will” and Drake’s  “Headlines” followed by the Maybach Music  anthem “Im A Boss”. The whole rap game has been waiting to partake on Meek Mill’s remix, it’s just one of those songs.  Justice was served as T.I. lead off the track followed by other hip hop elites along the always necessary DJ Khaled narration. If a dedicated fan made a playlist of the remixes T.I. has released since leaving prison, it will be long enough for a quick little workout. Its evident the King cares about his fans, hopefully his 8th studio album “ Trouble Man” will be everything fans expect.
