Last night, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez were big winners at the 2011 American Music Awards held in Los Angeles. To the surprise of many fans, Nicki Minaj beat out artists such as Lil Wayne and Kanye West in the Favorite Hip Hop Artist category, as well as taking home the award for Favorite Hip Hop Album. Although Rihanna was not able to attend due to touring, the Roc Nation bad girl, took home the award for Favorite Soul/R&B album. Beyonce who was also unable to attend, won the award for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist.
Nicki Minaj performed her hits “Super Bass” and “Turn Me On”, while Rihanna was unable to attend due to touring. Hot mama, Jennifer Lopez took home the award for Favorite Latin Artist and performed her singles “On the Floor” with Pitbull. Chris Brown also performed his singles “All Back” and “Say It With Me”. Other performances of the night came from Drake, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and more.
