Gate Five, LLC a company that produces video games is suing superstar mommy-to-be, Beyonce, for $100 million after claiming that she backed out a business deal with them at the last minute. Supposedly, Beyonce and Gate Five were working on releasing a video game titled Superstar: Beyonce when Bey allegedly backed out of the deal at the last minute due to what Gate Five called “extraortinate” demands for more money.
Gate Five is claiming that because of Beyonce’s late and sudden pullout of the deal, that 70 employees lost their job the week before Christmas 2010 and that their business was ultimately destroyed. Beyonce’s camp requested that the lawsuit be thrown out citing that Bey had every right to walk because Gate Five had not secured financing for the project by a mid-November 2010 deadline. Yesterday, the Manhattan Supreme Court gave Gate Five the ok to go ahead and pursue their lawsuit. Give us your thoughts on the situation.
