If the name Joran van der Sloot sounds familiar to you, it’s because he is the main suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teen, Natalee Holloway. Holloway visited the island of Aruba on a highschool senior trip and was never seen again, now the man who is suspected in her disappearance has plead guilty to killing a Peruvian woman on May 30, 2010 almost five years after Holloway’s disappearance hit the news.
According to USA Today, Van der Sloot confessed to killing Stephany Flores, a business student from a prominent Peruvian family, after she discovered that he had a connection to the Holloway case on his laptop in his Lima hotel. Prosecutors claim that Van der Sloot killed Flores in order to take money that she had recently won from casinos in Lima, Peru. Van der Sloot’s trial has been adjourned until Friday. Who doesn’t believe he had anything to do with Natalie Holloway’s murder ? This case has all the hallmarks of a serial killer in the making. What is even more disturbing about this particular case is that Van der Sloot will likely only spend 8 years in prison because he confessed. Now that is a crime!
