Friends and family of Stacey Nicole English worse fear has become a reality as the Fulton County Medical Examiner has just positively confirmed the body found days ago in a isolated area in southwest Atlanta is in fact that of the missing Buckhead woman. A source close to the investigation has confirmed exclusively to HHE that the case has shifted to a homicide investigation and that “they are going to catch the person responsible for this cowardly act. We are working closely with other law enforcement agencies to track down the person or persons responsible for Ms. English death.”
Days after the disappearance of Stacey Nicole English, HHE reached out to Robert Kirk, the person who was last seen with her and asked him could he shed any light on why she would just disappear like that and he immediately directed us to speak with his attorney. His exacts words, “I’m gonna have to push you to my attorney” however when we attempted to reach his attorney, none of our calls were returned. We also reached out to someone who knew Mr. Kirk for several years and while she stated that she never seen him violent towards any woman she did say that his behavior became very odd at the end of their relationship.
Stacey Nicole English, the Atlanta woman who was reported missing by her family on December 31st, may have been discovered. A woman’s body was found under a tree in Southeast Atlanta by two men who were looking for scrap metal. Carlos Campos, the spokeswoman for the Atlanta Police Department stated that the authorities received a call shortly before 3 pm on Monday, reporting the discovery of a body in the 300 block of St. John’s SW, near Pryor St by the two men. As of now, there are no connections between the two cases, but Atlanta police believe it could be English due to the proximity of where the body was found, and where English’s car was discovered on December 27th.
The body which was reported as being in the advanced stages of decomposition, has been transported to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office, but the identification and cause of death has not yet been determined. The cause of death and identification of the body may be determined by today, claimed an investigator with the examiner’s office.
Bernice English Hurks, English’s aunt, was on the scene of the discovery and spoke with reporters, but would not make speculations on the identification of the body. “I can’t base my emotions on what I think,” English Hurks said. The hardest thing now, she said, “is not knowing.” Robert Kirk, the St. Louis man who was suspected of possibly playing a part in the disturbing disappearance, was recently cleared of all speculation. English’s family hired a private investigator to try and find any sort of information about the 36 year-old woman’s disappearance, but it’s been reported that the investigator has turned up only a few leads. HHE will keep you updated on this developing story.
UPDATE 12:37 pm: Chief Medical Examiner Randy Hanzlick has stated that the body found is “an adult black female, consistent in age with reported missing person Stacey English.” The Medical Examiner’s Office is in the process of looking for fingerprints and dental records for English to compare them to those of the body found.
