Concert promoter, Patrick Allocco and his son Patrick, Jr. had been held captive in Angola for almost 49 days before they were released last Friday after accepting money up front for a concert in which Nas was set to appear but never even boarded the plane. Reportedly, Nas and rapper Jemiah Jai received almost $315,000 to perform at a New Year’s Eve concert in Angola, but never showed. After the no-show, concert promoter Alloco and his son were kidnapped and detained by employees of Henrique Miguel, the man who shelled out the money for Nas to appear.
According to reports, a large portion of the money had been returned to Miguel and this past Friday Allocco and his son were escorted by Embassy officials on a flight to Lisbon, and were then headed to New Jersey. “We are relieved that this nightmare is over and are looking forward to coming home to our family and friends who have supported us with their prayers and optimism during this ordeal” said a rep for Allocco.
