XXL’s annual “Freshmen List” has become one of the most anticipated lists of the year to show and tell who you should be listening to in 2012, or for more hardcore hip hop heads, who you’ve probably already been blasting for the last six months to a year. The internet has been ablaze with people speculating on who should make the list/cover this year, and finally the wait is over. This year’s 2011 Freshman List is:

Danny Brown
Kid Ink
Future
Roscoe Dash
Hopsin
Macklemore
Don Trip
Iggy Azalea
French Montana
The Twitter-verse has been talking all afternoon stating that artists such as Schoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky, Dom Kennedy and more should’ve made the list. Although we’re not going to downplay any of the Freshmen achievements, it does seem a bit odd that Roscoe Dash made a 2012 breakout list, seeing as how he got most of his “newcomer buzz” back in 2010. There were also rumors that A$AP Rocky turned down being on the list, but he recently cleared up that rumor in an interview with DJ Drama. What are your thoughts on the XXL Freshmen 2012 Class??
