A Los Angles Superior Court judge has ordered rapper Lil Wayne and Rapper Drake to fork over 400k plus dollars to a California booking agency for their failure to show up at a scheduled performance. The only problem with the judgement according to the two is that they were never aware that they in fact were booked to perform the show. The two also want a judge to vacate the judgement on the grounds that they were never served paperwork of a impending lawsuit taking place in the first place.
Drake and Lil Wayne allege that IEG used a third party to book them — Melanzh Enterprises — which they claim had no authority to book them. While the two allege that they never signed any contracts may not be the best defense since it is common that booking agents have power of attorney to book acts if this is something that was previously agreed on in advance or perhaps management signed the documents? Lil Wayne is no stranger to lawsuits as he has paid millions of dollars in the past to make them disappear.
