Former two-division world boxing champion, Paul Williams, may have the biggest fight of his career ahead. On Sunday May 27th, the 30 year-old decorated fighter was involved in a serious motorcycle crash near Atlanta, possibly leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Reports reveal Williams veered off road while trying to avoid another vehicle and was thrown from his motorcycle. Williams’ manager George Peterson has said the fighter is in good spirits and will undergo another surgery on Wednesday.
That procedure will assist in stabilizing the healthy upper half of his spine by putting a protective wall around it. In an announcement made just last week, Williams was scheduled to fight Saul Alvarez for the WBC Light Middleweight title on Sept 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
