It was recently confirmed by producer, Mike Dean (who has worked on Watch the Throne and other Kanye projects) that Jay-Z and Kanye West would be headed back into the studio to work on a sequel to Watch the Throne. In an interview with Quiet Launch, Dean stated,“I’m working on the G.O.O.D. Music album, of course, and Watch the Throne 2- it’s not started yet, but it’s coming.” Jay-Z also hinted to a sequel last December with an interview with Rolling Stone and also speculated that it could be out sometime this year.
In 2011, Watch the Throne was one of the biggest and most successful albums of the year. The album spun hits such as “Otis” and “N****s in Paris,” dominated cities on it’s tour, and was certified platinum.
