Nicki Minaj took to her twitter account to set the record straight after reports circulated that members of her entourage were targeted in an investigation for the rape and murder of a female following her Toyo, Japan concert. The Young Money artist who had been relatively quiet up until now, directed a series of tweets at blogger Perez Hilton to refute allegations that members of her camp were involved in the crime.
“Saddened to learn one of my precious fans found tragically (dead) in Japan. My love & prayers are with the family of Nicola Furlong.
@PerezHilton my dancers had nothing to do w/this tragedy. No one in my entourage was questioned or arrested. They all flew home from Japan. @PerezHilton that person on your sight is NOT my dancer. We do NOT know the men in custody. Too much misleading information.”
Shortly after her tweets the blogger responded:
“Will do new post with updated info from you ASAP.”
Since then the original report was removed from Hilton’s blog. However, despite her claims The Irish Central published reports that James Blackston, 23, is in some way connected to the entertainer. According to The Irish Central, “Blackston, from South Central Los Angeles, had a high profile career as a dancer who has worked with Nicki Minaj and the Black Eyed Peas among others. Both men are in Japan working for Japanese singer Ai Carina Uemura.”
As of now, Japanese authorities are still investigating the crime and no arrests have been made.
