While the 5th Amendment of the US Constitution protects a spouse for testifying against their other half, lying to a judge during a court proceeding doesn’t give you a pass and the wife of George Zimmerman is about to find out why.
25-year-old Shellie Nichole Zimmerman obviously had to learn about it the hard way as the wife of accused killer George Zimmerman was arrested today on one count of Perjury. During a bond hearing back in April, she testified via phone but under oath that she didn’t have any knowledge that their was substantial funds available for a bond for her husband and those statements were proven to be false after Zimmerman’s attorney revealed to CNN that there was in fact over 150,000.00 available to his client because of donations.
Shellie Zimmerman was released today after posting $1000.00 bond and will most likely be prosecuted alongside her husband barring she accepts a plea deal from the state.
