Despite the fact that her hairline made headliners recently, Naomi Campbell is in the spotlight again and this time for a good cause. Everyone has bad hair days however according to Florida hair surgeon Dr. Alan Bauman, Campbell may be suffering from something much worst.

Apparently the 42-year-old English supermodel’s receding hairline was exposed on a photo-shoot in Ibiza. Dr. Bauman believes Campbell suffers from traction alopecia – hair loss due to extensions. According to Bauman:

“Extensions, weaves, anything artificial hanging on hair – no matter whether you attach it with glue, special magnets, tape – it’s going to cause damage over time,” Bauman told ABCNews.com “And unless you give your hair a break from those extensions, it won’t rebound.”

It has not been verified whether Campbell’s hair loss is permanent however, this isn’t the first time a bald patch was revealed along her hairline. Ironically, according to the hairfoundation.org, August is National Hair Loss Awareness month.

Here is the good news! Over-exposure of the unbecoming hair-loss photographs did not prevent the supermodel from making an appearance during an Olympic charity event held at the Downtown Mayfair August 9th in London, England. Campbell hosted an Olympic Celebration dinner in partnership with Fashion for Relief and Interview Magazine. The fashion-forward event invited a long-list of celebrities, A-listers and musicians.
